Fourth suspect charged in 2021 Ottawa homicide

By CityNews Ottawa

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) have arrested their fourth and final suspect in connection with the murder of a teenaged boy in west-end Ottawa, about a year and a half ago.

John Ndayishimiye, 16, was shot to death at a home on Elmira Drive, near Woodroffe and the Queensway, in December 2021. Another 16-year-old was wounded in the same shooting.

Police arrested three people, last November. One adult and one young person were charged with first degree murder and attempted murder. The third person was charged with attempted murder and accessory after the fact.

Ottawa police say they’ve now arrested their fourth and final suspect. He’s too young to be named, but has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and accessory after the fact to murder.

He’s being held in custody and had a court appearance scheduled on Tuesday.
