Bear spotted in Kanata safely trapped, released to more suitable location: NCC

A bear that was spotted in a Kanata neighbourhood, early Thursday, has been safely trapped and is on its way to a more suitable location.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) said in a tweet, conservation officers captured the young bear. They were able to lure the bear safely into the cage and it was en route to be released in a more suitable location.
This comes nearly two months after community outrage over the euthanization of a bear in a Kanata neighbourhood, shot by a police officer after relocation efforts failed and the bear was considered a risk to the public’s safety.
