Air quality expected to improve for Ottawa, Smiths Falls by Monday evening

After several smoky days, it looks like we’ll be breathing a little easier by the end of the day, Monday.

Due to smoke from wildfires, a special air quality statement remained in effect for both Ottawa and Smiths Falls as of Monday morning.

As of 10 a.m., the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the City of Ottawa sat at eight, which is considered high risk.

However, Environment Canada predicts the AQI will fall to three by Monday evening, which is considered low risk.
