Pedestrian bridge installation forces another weekend closure of Hwy 417

Hot off the heels of last weekend’s highway closure comes the announcement of another, this time to install a pedestrian bridge.

The city of Ottawa has announced it will shut down a section of Hwy 417, which will take place in two weeks.

City officials say the closure is required to install a pedestrian bridge as part of the O-Train West extension project that will ‘enhance neighbourhood connectivity and provide direct access to the future Queensview Station from Baxter Road.’
