Kanata-Carleton voters send Liberal McCrimmon to Queen’s Park
The people of Kanata-Carleton have spoken, and Karen McCrimmon is heading to Queen’s Park.
McCrimmon, a Canadian Armed Forces veteran, has been named the new member of provincial parliament (MPP) for the riding of Kanata-Carleton.

With 100 per cent of the polls reporting as of 10:35 p.m. on Thursday evening, the Liberal candidate won the riding with 11,066 votes (34.35 per cent of the votes).
Provincially, the west end riding had been Conservative with Merrilee Fullerton, who abruptly resigned earlier this year.
McCrimmon is no stranger to the political scene, having first been elected as Kanata-Carleton’s member of parliament (MP) in 2015 and again in 2019.

In 2021, McCrimmon announced she was would not seek re-election as Kanata-Carleton’s MP, citing health reasons.
Sean Webster of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario placed second with 10,415 votes while Melissa Coenraad, the New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate placed third with 9560 votes.
New Blue Party candidate Jennifer Boudreau scored 638 votes, Green Party Steven Warren had 442 votes and Independent Josh Rachlis secured 90 votes.
Voter turnout was 35.14 per cent.
