OPP investigating fatal collision on Highway 17, west of Cobden

Members from the Renfrew County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision.
On Aug. 28, 2023, shortly after 3:20 p.m., officers, along with the Renfrew County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Renfrew and Whitewater Region Township Fire Departments responded to a two-motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 west of Cobden.
A 44-year-old driver of a vehicle sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead. Two additional passengers were transported to hospital for serious injuries.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
