Three people in custody, police operation concludes in northeast Smiths Falls
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has ended its police operation in northeast Smiths Falls.
Three people are now in custody, and the OPP has not provided any other details regarding its police operation.
UPDATE: The police operation in the Rideau Ave area of @townsmithsfalls has concluded and three persons are now in custody. Residents of that area no longer need to remain in their homes and there is no further concern for public safety @OPP_COMM_ER ^jt

Earlier on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the OPP advised residents in the northeast part of Smiths Falls to stay in their homes with their doors locked due to an “active investigation.”
The warning was for people in the Rideau Avenue and Harper Condie Road areas. Police did not say exactly what the threat was.
