Police ask for help identifying suspect in Baseline Road commercial robbery

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking the public for help as it investigate a commercial robbery in the west end in the early summer.

According to police, a male suspect entered a store in the 1300 block of Baseline Road around 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4.

Police say several store employees were assaulted when the suspect tried to leave the store with unpaid merchandise, then shortly after, the suspect returned to the store, assaulted another employee and fled in a grey Mazda CX-5.

The employees sustained minor injuries.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black
  • 5’10” – 6’0″ (178-183 cm) tall
  • Heavy build
  • Facial hair

 

Last seen wearing:

  • Black baseball cap with white logo
  • White t-shirt
  • Black hooded sweater with a small white Nike logo
  • Black pants
  • White Crocs

 

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who can identify this suspect or vehicle.
