Ottawa man struck by vehicle in northern Ontario dies of injuries in hospital

An elderly Ottawa man who was struck by a vehicle in northern Ontario earlier this month has died of his injuries.

The Temiskaming detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The pedestrian had been struck in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 near Milne Sherman Road in Temagami.

Normand Roux, 87, of Ottawa, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Roux died of his injuries on Wednesday, Oct. 11 in hospital.

The investigation into the crash continues.
