Thomas Murray like to dream big.

And now, the Nepean resident has made a dream a reality after winning $5 million in the Lotto 6/49 Classic Jackpot on Oct. 4, 2023.

The 43-year-old said he’s been a regular lottery player since he was 18-years-old.

“My favourite games are Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max – I like to dream big!” he shared while at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

He said he had just arrived at his cottage when he checked his ticket on the OLG app.

“I saw this big number on the screen and was trying to count the zeroes, but my eyes couldn’t focus. I wondered if I had died somewhere along the way, and this was all a dream!” he recalled. “I asked my mom to confirm, and we were jittery with shock, then we started jumping up and down cheering.”

His first priority is a real estate investment and wants to do something special for his family.

“I want to take my time to find myself the perfect place,” he added. “I will invest for my kids and sponsor their hockey teams. I’m going to treat my family members and will celebrate by taking a vacation to relax and let this all settle in.”
