The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) announced that power has been fully restored throughout its General Campus after a transformer fire broke out just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.

Shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, TOH officials said “normal power has been restored to the General Campus.”

As of Monday, Oct. 30, TOH said that the General Campus has lifted its ‘Code Grey-Power’ notice, however, the emergency department remains closed.

“We continue to work towards restoring normal operations at the General Campus, however a ‘Code Orange – General Only’ – remains in effect,” hospital officials said in a statement on its website and on X.

About 100 people had to be relocated, including 17 neonatal ICU babies were moved from the eighth floor.

TOH officials said that the neonatal ICU babies are in the process of going back to the General Campus.
