Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the nation’s capital, warning of freezing rain, snow and ice pellets later today.

The weather agency said the winter type weather conditions will begin sometime in the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 8 and into the morning of Thursday, Nov. 9.

Environment Canada said snowfall and ice pellet amounts could reach up to five centimetres, with higher accumulations expected towards parts of the Ottawa Valley.
