OPP find body of missing man near Smiths Falls

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating after a body was discovered along Highway 15 near Smiths Falls on Wednesday, Nov. 8.

The OPP confirmed on Thursday, Nov. 9 that the body was identified as Steven Tate of Montague Township who was last seen in Smiths Falls on Nov. 4. been reported missing on November 4, 2023. He was last seen alive the same date in the early morning hours.

A section of Highway 15 was closed for the investigation, but has since reopened.
