Driver stopped for going 138 km/h in construction zone, charged with stunt driving

A 38-year-old female is facing a stunt driving charge after she was stopped for speeding in a construction zone eastbound on Highway 174.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said on X that the driver was nabbed for driving 138 km/h along the highway, which currently has a posted speed limit of 80 km/h due to construction.

“When it comes to construction zones, reducing our speed should be instinctive…workers’ safety shouldn’t be an afterthought,” the OPS said on X.
