Man, 40, sent to hospital following shooting in Hull, Gatineau police investigating ‘targeted’ incident

The Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) has launched an investigation after a man was shot in the Hull sector on Monday afternoon.

Gatineau police said officers were called to the area of boulevard du Casino and boulevard de la Carrière at around 4:45 p.m on Monday, Nov. 27 with reports that a man was suffering from an alleged gunshot wound.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, police said. A man in his 50s who was with the shooting victim had minor injuries according to Gatineau police.

The information gathered by the police officers at the scene determined that the victim had been struck by firearm projectiles while he was on Eddy Street in the Hull sector.

Police arrested a man in his 30s on Rue Leduc a short time after.

The investigation is ongoing, and police believe that this was a targeted incident.
