OC Transpo is launching an internal investigation after one of its operators was hurt when the driver’s seat malfunctioned.

In a statement to CityNews Ottawa, Troy Charter, director of transit service delivery and rail operations with OC Transpo, said the bus driver sustained a minor injury when “a defect related to the operator’s seat” happened while the bus was on its route on Antares Drive at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11.

Charter added that there were five passengers on board at the time of the incident. No injuries to any of the passengers have been reported.

“OC Transpo’s Special Constables Unit attended to the scene and supported our emergency service partners who helped gather more information on the incident,” added Charter in his statement. “OC Transpo is conducting an internal review to determine the cause of the incident.”
