Dealership in Gatineau receives fine for selling vehicle to customer for more than listed price

Gatineau KIA has received a fine of more than $3,100 for selling a vehicle above the advertised price.

The dealership, located at 1299 Boulevard La Vérendrye Ouest, in Gatineau, received a fine of $3,125 by Quebec’s consumer protection office for the incident.

The car dealership pleaded guilty on Oct. 10, 2023, to a charge under the Consumer Protection Act.

According to l’Office de la protection du consommateur, in April of 2021, the Gatineau dealership charged an additional $499 for a VIP package to the price of the vehicle that was shown online.
