OPP arrests pair after drive-by shooting on the 401

The Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two men after a shooting on Highway 401 southeast of Ottawa.

OPP said they responded to reports of a gun being fired from one vehicle at another around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police located the vehicle heading westbound on the 401 with help from officers from Grenville and Leeds detachments and pulled it over without incident.

No injuries were reported.

Anuj Kumar, 20, of Brampton and Sanjay Kumar, 29, of Lindsay each face nearly a dozen charges including attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and discharging a prohibited weapon.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

The pair were held for a bail hearing.
