Police have charged an Alberta man after a transport truck hit an overpass on Monday then fled.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) posted on social media that a truck transporting vehicles hit the Woodroffe overpass on Highway 417 shortly before noon on Christmas Day.

Police said the driver then fled the scene.

OPP said later that they located the driver, a 56 year-old man from Alberta, and charged him with fail to remain, fail to report an accident and fail to report damage to property on highway.

No injuries were reported and the OPP didn’t immediately identify the driver.
