Fire crews extinguish vehicle fire in east end

No one was hurt after Ottawa firefighters extinguished a vehicle that was on fire in the Cumberland area on Wednesday evening.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received a 9-1-1 call at roughly 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3 reporting a vehicle fire that was right beside a detached garage and close to the dry trees on the property in Ottawa’s east end.

Firefighters confirmed the vehicle was fully engulfed in smoke and flames when they arrived at the scene.

The fire was declared under control at 9:17 p.m., six minutes after crews arrived at the scene.
