Police charge 34-year-old man in connection to several hate related offences in Ottawa

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Hate and Bias Crime Unit has laid numerous charges against a 34-year-old man following a series of hate related incidents that took place in several areas of the city in December of 2023.

Police said in a release that the suspect spray painted a series of antisemitic symbols and other hateful messages in multiple locations in the nation’s capital including the downtown and Golden Triangle areas.

The 34-year-old man from Ottawa has been identified and charged with 18 counts of mischief to property.
