Arrest made after police investigation of reported gunshots

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) made an arrest following reports of gunshots heard in the Castle Heights area of Ottawa.

OPS officers responded to a disturbance with the possibility of gunshots Thursday morning around 9:35 a.m..

In a statement to CityNews, OPS say, “Evidence of what appears to be a bullet hole was located on scene.”

It occurred near Queen Mary Street and Bernard Street.

Residents and nearby schools were advised of the operation by police upon arrival on scene. Schools initiated their security protocols.

One person was arrested and OPS tell CityNews due to the on-going investigation, no further information will be provided at this time and evidence is still being gathered.

There is no threat to public safety.
