Fire at Gatineau rooming house causes $75K in damage

There are no injuries after an attic fire in a two-storey rooming house in Gatineau.

Gatineau firefighters responded to a seven room home at A 9 and 11 Saint-Henri Street shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

When firefighters arrived there were visible flames coming from an attic window.

The was quickly brought under control with damage limited to the attic.

The damage is pegged around $75,000 and seven people have been displaced.

Those affected are being assisted by the Red Cross.
