Police are looking for other victims after they arrested and charged a 29-year-old Gatineau woman with several trafficking and sex crimes.
Officers said they arrested the woman on Monday at a residence on Buckingham Avenue during an operation where the force’s SWAT team was called in.
Police didn’t say why they were there.
Valérie Séguin, 29, faces several charges including material benefit from the provision of sexual services by a person under the age of eighteen, advertising sexual services, pimping, making threats, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm and invitation to sexual touching.
Police said they believe there are other victims between Jan. 6 and Jan. 18, and are asking them to come forward.
They ask anyone with information about this investigation, or who believes they are a victim, to call 819-243-4636, option 5.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and there may be additional charges.
Séguin remains in custody and appeared in court on Tuesday.
