Road rage incident leads to multiple assault and firearm charges

Two individuals have been charged following a road rage incident in the morning of Feb. 1, 2024 on Walkley Road.

In a release, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) say the confrontation was between the drivers of two cars where the suspect attacked and assaulted the other driver.

The suspect then fled the area in their vehicle. OPS officers searched the immediate area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle.

During the police investigation, a loaded firearm was discovered along with Canadian money and a quantity of drugs which were seized. The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has laid charges against two adults of Ottawa.

The 20-year-old driver Jovany Paul has been charged with:

  • Multiple firearm offences
  • Assault
  • Drug offences

The 21-year-old passenger Sammy Musoni has been charged with:

  • Multiple firearm offences
  • Drug offences

They are both scheduled to appear in court on Feb 2, 2024.
