Driver charged following two-vehicle collision in Clarence-Rockland

Charges have been laid after a two-vehicle collision in Clarence-Rockland.

Russell County OPP responded to the crash on Landry Road around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, along with members of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Paramedics and the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department.

Police say the driver failed a roadside sobriety test, was arrested and then taken to the police detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old from Rockland faces the following charges:

  • Refusal to comply with demand – bodily harm
  • Adult Operation causing bodily harm

The accused also received a 90-day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.
