Police seeking suspect in Chinatown assault

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking for help identifying the suspect in an assault in Chinatown late last year.

According to police, the male victim was approached by a person unknown to him near Bronson Avenue and Somerset Street West around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Police say the victim was assaulted, sustaining minor injuries, before the suspect fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Approximately 25-30-years-old
  • 6’1” (185 cm) tall
  • Slim build

He was last seen wearing dark pants, a blue winter jacket, a Yukon style red fur lined winter hat and white sneakers.
