Ottawa man wins $100K with Encore

Darren Viner matched six of seven encore numbers on his ticket to score the $100,000 prize, said OLG in a release on Tuesday.
The 57-year-old from Ottawa said he has been playing the lottery for over 30 years and is no stranger to saying ‘yes’ to encore on his tickets.
“The morning after the draw, I saw an email from OLG. It looked different from the typical emails I receive so I logged into my account and saw the Big Winner screen. I stared at it in shock for a few minutes,” Viner said.
He said he told his friends about his big win and they were as surprised as he was.
Viner said he plans to pay some bills and save the rest of his winnings.
“I haven’t thought about what to splurge on but it will be fun making those decisions.”
The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.
