Stolen SUV set on fire in Petawawa, OPP investigating

Police said they’re investigating after a vehicle was stolen then set on fire in a town northwest of Ottawa.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they were called to the Petawawa Presbyterian Church’s parking lot at around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Officers found a burning white SUV, which had been reported stolen from the driveway of a residence on Pine Place some time Tuesday evening.

Fire crews were on scene to put out the flames.

OPP said they are treating the fire as suspicious and are assisting the Petawawa fire department with the investigation.
