There are no injuries reported after a residential fire in Westboro.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a two-storey family home in the 400 block of Lochaber Avenue, between Kicrhoffer and Duchess avenues, shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
The occupant had called 9-1-1 to report the fire and said she was very concerned about her two dogs and two cats still inside the home.
The caller was instructed to leave the home, close the door behind her and wait for firefighters to arrive.
The dogs had already found their way outside when firefighters arrived, but the cats were still inside.
Crews began a fast attack and quickly extinguished the flames, containing the fire to the first floor of the home.
Both cats were located and brought to safety by firefighters. All pets are safe and have been reunited with their owner.
The fire was declared under control within ten minutes of crews arriving on scene and a fire investigator is working to determine the cause and origin.
The fire has left three people without a place to stay.
