Second-degree murder charge laid in connection with man’s death in Alfred-Plantagenet

Police have laid charges in connection with a murder last week in the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet.

The Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Prescott-Russell Paramedics found Timothy Provost, 32, dead in an apartment on County Road 17 at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 22.

According to police, a post-mortem revealed that Provost was stabbed to death. There is no word yet on what exactly was used to kill the victim.

On Sunday, officers arrested and charged Mathew Brisebois, 30, with second-degree murder in Hawkesbury.

Police say the arrest occurred without incident and the accused was taken into custody to be held for bail.
