Police looking for Centretown store robber

Ottawa police are asking the public for help to identify a man wanted for a commercial robbery on Feb. 18.

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says the man entered a store in the 400 block of Bank Street at around 2:50 p.m., stole some items and assaulted a staff member who tried to stop him.

Police say the victim wasn’t injured.

Investigators describe the man as white, in his 40s, around five-foot-eight with a medium build and “salt and pepper” beard.

He was wearing a black hooded jacket, with a dark green sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans, black shoes and a black ball cap during the robbery.
