Ontario truck driver facing 14 charges after being caught impaired on Hwy. 417

Police hit a transport truck driver with over a dozen charges after they got a tip about a probably drunk driver on the Queensway Tuesday evening.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say that at around 7 p.m. they received a call about a possible impaired driver on Highway 417 near Highway 7.

Police say a search of the truck revealed a large amount of alcohol, including open alcohol.

An OPP Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector also found numerous infractions. 

Officers arrested and charged Soloman Jaffri, 30, with:

Jaffri was released and is set to appear in court in Ottawa at a later date.

The OPP thanks members of the public who continue to report impaired drivers, saying it helps to keep Ontario roads safe.
