Fatal head-on crash closes WB Hwy. 417 from Innes to the split
A fatal two-vehicle collision has closed a section of Highway 417 westbound.
Emergency services responded to the head-on crash shortly before 4 a.m. on Thursday, April 18 near the Highway 174 off-ramp.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service, Ottawa Fire Services OFS), the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) all responded to the scene.

The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped and needed extrication.
One person was killed, while two others were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The westbound Queensway remains closed from Innes Road to the Highway 174 split.
The crash also prompted detours for some OC Transpo buses, including routes 25 & 42.
Transit said it was working closely with the City of Ottawa to manage disruptions.
