One person killed, three injured including infant in Hwy. 417 crash

One person is dead, and three others are injured following a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 417 near the Kinburn exchange Tuesday morning.

Provincial police say the crash happened after a vehicle crossed the centre median of the highway, just west of Kinburn Road, around 9:30 a.m.

Constable Michael Fathi, with the OPP Ottawa Detachment, confirmed to CityNews Ottawa that two females and an infant were taken to local hospitals.

There’s no word on their conditions or ages.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and police say it is too early to comment on if charges will be laid.

Highway 417 was completely shut down from County Road 29 to Kinburn for the investigation for several hours, but eastbound lanes have since re-opened.

Westbound lanes remain closed to traffic.
