Distracted driving charge laid following collision near Perth

Charges have been laid following a two-vehicle collision near Perth this week.

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash in Tay Valley Township just after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.

Police say both vehicles were northbound on Highway 511 near near Drummond Concession 4A when the lead vehicle slowed to turn and was struck by the other vehicle.

One driver suffered minor injuries and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

A 21-year-old from Lanark Highlands has been charged with driving with a handheld communication device.
