North Grenville shooting leads to attempted murder charge
A charge of attempted murder has been laid in connection with a shooting in North Grenville over the Victoria Day long weekend.
According to the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), one person was injured during an assault at a residence in Oxford Station.
It happened around 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 19.

A short time later, several individuals were injured when a shotgun was fired at the vehicle they were in.
None of the injuries were life-threatening.
Following a police investigation by Grenville County OPP’s Crime Unit, three people have been arrested and charged.
Jesse Bryanton, 31, of Oxford Station faces the following charges:
- Attempted murder
- Careless use of a firearm
- Discharge a firearm in a reckless manner
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Bryanton has also been charged with the following offences following a separate investigation:

- Sexual assault on a person under 16
- Sexual interference
Bryanton was remanded in custody at a bail hearing on Thursday and is scheduled in court again in Brockville on May 30.
Nicholas Fichera, 33, of North Grenville faces the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Careless use of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Natasha Bergeron, 30, of Oxford Station, faces the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon
- Uttering threats to cause death of bodily harm
