One dead in fiery crash east of Hawkesbury

One person is dead after a collision east of Hawkesbury after both vehicles caught fire.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, members of the Hawkesbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on County Road 17, between Golf Road and Tupper Street.

One person was pronounced deceased at the scene and several others were taken to hospital with varying degrees of injuries.

At least one was transferred to a trauma centre in Ottawa.

The investigation continues and more details are expected to be released today.
