Stunt driving on Highway 417: Police catch driver

A driver is facing a $2,000 fine after Ontario Provincial Police caught them going well above the speed limit on Highway 417 on Wednesday.

The driver was travelling 181 km/h on the highway, about 80 km/h over the limit.

According to a post on X, officials charged the driver with stunt driving and issued them a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound. Along with the fine, the driver is also being deducted six demerit points and has a one-year driving prohibition upon conviction.
