Man dead after reports of medical distress, prompting police presence

Police are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner in a death investigation in the Town of Renfrew, Ont. on Friday morning.

According to the Renfrew County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the investigation is centred around an area on Raglan Street South.

Police said a male was reported to be in medical distress just after 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. He was later pronounced dead at hospital after officers attempted life-saving measures.

OPP said there is no threat to public safety, as there is no suspicion of foul play.
