Royal Canadian Air Force flying by downtown. Here’s when

Residents of Ottawa were treated to an early show by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) when it conducted a practice fly-by of Parliament Hill on Wednesday.

The RCAF is preparing for it’s Canada Day event. The aircrafts flew past the capital between 12:45 and 1:30 p.m.

On July 1, the Snowbirds will take to the skies along with dozens of aircrafts that will travel over the Ottawa-Gatineau region. This will happen at 1 p.m. and will be one of the largest fly-bys in the city’s history.

The whole show will take about 20 minutes.

The fly past schedule on Monday is as follows:

  • 1 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Parliament Hill
  • 1 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa, ON K1A 0M8

On Tuesday June 25, the Italian Airforce Aerobatic Team, Frecce Tricolori, flew over the nation’s capital with the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Snowbirds.

The event was part of a North American tour for the Italian jets honouring the first time in more than 30 years since the Frecce Tricolori flew across Canada and the United States during its last mission. The tour is meant to represent “Italian excellence”, a press release reads.
