Driver caught going almost double the speed limit on highway south of Ottawa

Provincial police have seized a vehicle after the driver was speeding down Highway 401 south of Ottawa near Morrisburg, Ont.

Officials from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said in a post on X the driver was going 175 km/h, almost twice the speed limit.

“Yes you heard that right,” the post reads.

The person was charged and had their licence suspended.
