14-year-old driver charged in SUV rollover west of Perth

Two teens have been charged in connection with a single-vehicle collision in Tay Valley Township last month.

According to the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 on Glen Tay Road, west of Perth, Ont.

Police said there were four young people in the vehicle.

A high-end sport utility vehicle (SUV) left the road, struck a hydro pole and rolled over.

There were no injuries reported, but police learned a 14-year-old had been driving.

As a result of the investigation, the 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male face the following charges:

Their names cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both accused have been released and are due in court in Perth at a later date.
