OPP charge 1 for driving with a ‘completely’ bald tire on Hwy. 416

Late at night, on a rainy July 11, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) got a report of a suspected impaired driver.

According to the caller, the driver was not able to stay in the lanes or speed on the wet roads on Highway 416.

OPP from the North Grenville detachment responded and located the vehicle quickly. According to police, the driver was not impaired but instead had one tire that was completely bald.

Officials charged the person for driving with an improper tire and it was replaced at the side of the road.

“Do not drive with worn tires; it can greatly affect your ability to stop in an emergency, especially on wet roads like last night,” police said in a post on X.
