Man charged with luring child over internet, more victims possible
Police executed a search warrant that ultimately led them to arresting a 56-year-old man in Ottawa’s west end.
Investigators from the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit arrested and charged Michael Begin, of Ottawa.
He was charged with:

- Telecommunication with a person under the age of 18 for a specific criminal offence
- Make written child pornography
- Transmit sexually explicit material to a person under 16 years
Ottawa police believe there could be more victims and ask the public to keep an eye out for screen names “Mic1067” or “MicBee67.”
“The investigation is continuing, if you or someone you know under the age of 18 has been communicating online with Begin, please contact police,” officials ask.

Begin is scheduled to appear at court at a later date.
The arrest was assisted by the Surveillance Unit, Forensic Identification Section, Digital Forensic Section, West Neighbourhood Resource Team, Tactical Unit and Frontline Patrol Officers.
