Heavy rain likely for Ottawa this weekend

Environment Canada is forecasting a wet weekend across much of the province.

While no alerts are in effect at this time, the weather agency says heavy rain is possible as a moisture-laden system approaches.

This pattern could bring significant rainfall amounts, high rainfall rates and thunderstorms, likely starting Friday evening and continuing right through Sunday, possibly Monday.

The public is being advised to monitor forecasts as details will become more certain as the event draws closer.
