Here’s what is open or closed on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Some services will be operating on different schedules in recognition of Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, on Monday, Sept. 30.
Client Service Centres
- The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Please visit ottawa.ca/311 for more information.
- ServiceOttawa’s Client Services and Provincial Offences counters and phone lines will be closed.
- The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Ave. will be closed.
- The City of Ottawa Spay and Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Ga. will be closed.
- The City of Ottawa Archives and Gallery 112 at the James Bartleman Centre will be closed from Saturday, September 28 to Monday, September 30.
- The Barbara Ann Scott Gallery at City Hall will be closed on Monday, Sept. 30.
Green bin, recycling and garbage collection
- Curbside green bin, recycling, garbage and bulky item collection will follow the normal collection schedule on Monday, September 30.
- Multi-residential garbage containers will be collected on the regular scheduled day. Collections of multi-residential recycling containers, bulky items and green bins will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
- The Trail Waste Facility Landfill will be open on Monday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Parking
- All City parking regulations apply.
Transit Services
- OC Transpo buses will run on a weekday schedule.
- O-Train Line 1 will run from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Line 2 bus service will run from 5:45 a.m. to midnight.
- Rural Shopper Route 301 will run.
- The Rideau Centre OC Transpo Customer Service Centre will be open on Monday, Sept. 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- The OC Transpo Lost and Found (Heartwood House) will be open on Monday, Sept. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Para Transpo:
- Para Transpo service will operate regular service on Monday, Sept. 30.
- The reservations line will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The trip cancellation line will be open from 6 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Regular bookings for Monday, Sept. 30 will not be automatically cancelled.
- Para Transpo customers can also text 57272 to contact customer service representatives from 6 am to 12:30 a.m. for cancellations or information. Standard rates apply.
- The Taxi Coupon line will remain open.
- Use the Travel Planner or Transit, the recommended app for OC Transpo customers, to plan your trip.
Recreation and cultural services
- All community, recreation and cultural facilities are open.
- City-operated museums are closed every Monday.
Ottawa Public Health
- The site program office and supervised consumption services at 179 Clarence St. will be closed. The site mobile van will operate from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Visit the ParentingInOttawa web page for vaccination clinic hours and availability.
- The Sexual Health Clinic and satellite clinics will be closed.
- Dental clinics will be closed.
- The Parenting-In-Ottawa drop-ins will be closed on Monday, September 30.
- Connect with a registered nurse from Health811 for free, secure, and confidential health advice. Service is available in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages.
- Our immunization program telephone line will be closed. You can update your child’s immunization record using either the CANImmunize App or the Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON) Tool. For more information visit our Updating and Retrieving Immunizations web page.
Employment and Social Services
- All four Employment and Social Services offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 30:
- 370 Catherine St.
- 2339 Ogilvie Rd.
- 100 Constellation Dr.
- 2020 Walkley Rd.
Municipal child care services
- All municipal child care centreswill be closed on Monday, Sept. 30.
Ottawa Public Library
- Seven OPL branches will be open on Monday, Sept. 30 to provide a “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Learning and Action Space.” The following branches will be open from 10 am to 5 pm:

- Cumberland, 1599 Tenth Line Rd.
- Greenboro, 363 Lorry Greenberg Dr.
- Main,120 Metcalfe St.
- Nepean Centrepointe,101 Centrepointe Dr.
- Ruth E. Dickinson, 100 Malvern Dr.
- St Laurent, 515 Côté St.
- InfoService will also be open to help clients via telephone, email or chat.
- Regular hours resume on Tuesday, October 1 at all library branches.
