Ottawa man charged in Christmas Day murder

An investigation is underway into the homicide of an adult female that occurred on Dec. 25.

Police were called to the scene at the 1 to 100 block of Spadina Ave. just after 6 p.m. The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Jolene Arreak of Ottawa.

Thirty-five year old Manasi Foo has been charged with second degree murder. He has also been charged with attempted murder on a second victim who was treated in hospital and since been released.

Foo is expected to appear in court today.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
