2 youths responsible for bomb threat to a Prescott high school

Police from the Grenville detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they found the people responsible for the bomb threats to a Prescott, Ont. high school on Monday.

According to a press release, the two youths, who won’t be named due to the criminal justice act, have been “dealt with” by using community support programs.

On Jan. 20, officers were called to St Mark Catholic School after threatening voicemails were left.

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario told CityNews that two messages were sent to parents during the incident.

The first message told guardians that the school received a bomb threat. At the time students waited on buses while police were called.

“Please be assured that all students are safe and warm,” it reads.

The second message came at 12:45 p.m. and notes that students are resuming their regular schedules for the rest of the day after police conducted a “thorough” investigation.
