It’s Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and you’re heading home after a long day at work — only one more day until the weekend — when, unfortunately, the unexpected happens.
Travelling across the City of Ottawa at this time can cause people to lose patience, considering the roads are packed full of vehicles and buses trying to get back as soon as they can.
People who travel through Hunt Club Road and Riverside Drive should be aware, as police say this is the intersection with the most crashes in 2024. It’s a part of new data released by the force, which notes that most accidents happen on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the city.
Officials say last year there were 19,777 collisions, and the vast majority (85 per cent) were processed by the Collision Reporting Centre. This, officers say, freed up 16,500 calls for police.
